Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before enrolling your child or using the services of Visakan School CBSE, Madurai. Enrolment constitutes acceptance of all terms below.

Important: These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Visakan School CBSE ("the School", "we", "us") and the parents, guardians and students ("you") who use our services. By completing the admission process or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an admission application, enrolling a student, or accessing any services provided by Visakan School CBSE, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These terms apply to all students, parents, guardians, website visitors and prospective applicants. The school reserves the right to update these terms at any time, with changes taking effect upon publication on this page. Continued enrolment after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Applicable to: All students enrolled from Pre-KG to Class XII at Visakan School CBSE, S-421, Alagusundaram Nagar, Palanganatham, Madurai – 625003, Tamil Nadu, India.

Admission & Enrolment

Admission to Visakan School is subject to availability of seats and compliance with CBSE norms and the age criteria established by the school for each class level.

  • The prospectus and application form must be obtained from the school office on payment of the prescribed fee (₹300 for LKG–IX; ₹500 for Class XI).
  • All required documents — birth certificate, community certificate, transfer certificate and passport photographs — must be submitted at the time of application.
  • Admission is confirmed only upon payment of the first-term fee and receipt of the school fee receipt.
  • The school reserves the right to accept or decline any application without being obligated to provide reasons.
  • False or misleading information in an admission application may result in immediate cancellation of enrolment without refund.
  • Age eligibility is determined as of 1st May of the academic year (Pre-KG: 2½ years; LKG: 3½ years; UKG: 4½ years).

Fee Payment Policy

All fees must be paid on or before the due dates specified by the school. Failure to pay fees on time may result in penalties or restriction of access to school services.

  • Term I: Fees must be paid before 10th May of the academic year.
  • Term II: Fees must be paid before 30th September of the academic year.
  • Term III: Fees must be paid before 30th January of the academic year.
  • Fee receipts must be retained by parents and produced upon request by the school administration.
  • Fees paid are non-refundable except in cases where the school is unable to provide the service for which the fee was collected.
  • Students with outstanding fees may be restricted from participating in examinations or receiving progress reports until dues are cleared.
  • The school reserves the right to revise fee structures at the beginning of each academic year with prior notice.

Late Payment: Parents are urged to make payments well before the due date to avoid disruption to their child's education. In cases of genuine financial hardship, parents may approach the school administration privately to discuss payment arrangements.

Attendance, Conduct & Discipline

All students are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct, discipline and attendance throughout the academic year in accordance with school rules and CBSE guidelines.

  • A minimum of 85% attendance is compulsory in each academic term. Students falling below this threshold may be withheld from examinations.
  • Students are expected to be punctual. Habitual late-coming will be recorded and may attract disciplinary action.
  • Proper school uniform must be worn every school day, except on birthdays or on days designated by the school.
  • Mobile phones, electronic devices and irrelevant articles are strictly prohibited on school premises at all times.
  • No student may leave the school premises during school hours without the written or in-person authorisation of the Principal and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Bullying, use of abusive language, violence or any form of harassment towards fellow students or staff is strictly prohibited and may result in suspension or expulsion.
  • Chewing gum and bringing food not permitted by the school are prohibited on premises.
  • Students are expected to respect school property, staff and fellow students at all times.

Academic Policy & Examinations

Visakan School follows the CBSE curriculum and examination pattern. Students are expected to participate in all scheduled assessments, tests and board examinations.

  • Students must participate in all internal assessments, unit tests and term examinations as scheduled by the school.
  • Absence from an examination without prior written intimation from parents and a valid reason may result in zero marks for that assessment.
  • Academic progress reports are issued at the end of each term and must be signed by parents and returned promptly.
  • Malpractice or cheating in any examination will result in immediate cancellation of that paper and may attract further disciplinary consequences.
  • Students appearing for CBSE board examinations must fulfil all CBSE-prescribed eligibility criteria including attendance, practicals and fee submission.

School Property & Library

Students are responsible for the proper care and use of school property, including textbooks, laboratory equipment, library books and classroom materials.

  • Any damage to school property caused by a student will be charged to the parent or guardian at replacement cost.
  • Library books must be returned in good condition by the due date. Loss or damage of a library book will attract a fine equivalent to the replacement cost of the book.
  • Loss of a library card will attract a fine of Rs. 25/-. Replacement cards will be issued only after payment of this fine.
  • Laboratory equipment must be handled with care. Any breakage or damage to lab equipment must be reported immediately to the teacher-in-charge.

Transport Policy

The school provides transport services for students across Madurai city. Enrolment in the transport service is subject to availability and the following conditions:

  • Students must be present at the designated pick-up point at the scheduled time. The bus will not wait beyond the scheduled stop time.
  • Students must maintain good conduct on the school bus. Misbehaviour on the bus will be treated as a violation of school rules.
  • Transport fees are payable as part of the school fee and are non-refundable once the term has commenced.
  • The school is not liable for delays caused by traffic, road conditions or other factors outside its control.
  • Parents must inform the school in writing if their child will not be travelling on the bus on a given day and make alternative pick-up arrangements.

Withdrawal & Transfer Certificate

If a parent wishes to withdraw a student from Visakan School, the following process must be followed:

  • Written notice of withdrawal must be submitted to the Principal at least 30 days in advance.
  • All pending fees and dues must be cleared before a Transfer Certificate (TC) will be issued.
  • Transfer Certificates will be issued within 5 working days of clearance of all dues and return of all school property including books and library cards.
  • Fees already paid for the current term are non-refundable upon withdrawal.
  • The school reserves the right to withhold the TC until all conditions above are satisfied.

Website Use & Intellectual Property

The Visakan School website (www.visakanschool.com) and all its content — including text, photographs, logos, graphics and videos — are the intellectual property of Visakan School CBSE.

  • Unauthorised reproduction, distribution or use of any content from this website is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the school.
  • The school's logo, name and branding may not be used by any individual or organisation without explicit written consent.
  • The website is provided for informational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, the school does not warrant that all information is error-free or up-to-date at all times.
  • Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only. The school is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, and specifically the applicable education regulations of Tamil Nadu and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

  • Any dispute arising from these terms shall first be addressed through direct discussion with the school Principal or management.
  • If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.
  • The school's decision in matters of student conduct, academic assessment and disciplinary action shall be final and binding, subject to applicable CBSE guidelines.

CBSE Affiliation: Visakan School operates in accordance with all rules and regulations set by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. In the event of any conflict, CBSE guidelines shall prevail.
